OpenAI Plans To Open Its AI Models To Third-party Smart Glasses

OpenAI President Greg Brockman recently stated during a media interaction in New York that the company aims not only to develop its own hardware in the future but also to provide tools enabling developers to integrate OpenAI’s AI services into third-party products.

The company intends to gradually build an AI ecosystem spanning various device form factors, allowing its model capabilities to be deployed across a wider range of smart devices; wearables—such as smart glasses—are considered a key area of ​​exploration.

Brockman stated that OpenAI is advancing the development of APIs that will enable electronics manufacturers to integrate the company's AI models into their own hardware products. On the software front, OpenAI is prioritizing the development of the ChatGPT Live voice assistant.

Currently, the assistant is capable of natural conversation and is integrated with Codex, a tool that generates code from natural language. Looking ahead, ChatGPT Live is expected to connect with third-party applications, enabling the completion of more tasks with minimal user intervention.
